Darnell Williams is a freelance dancer and choreographer. He began his dance training as a competitive dancer in the Washington D.C , Maryland, and Virginia area dancing with multiple studios including Sharon's Star Dance Studio, Woodbridge Dance Company, and Dance Depot. He later attended Towson University on Scholarship and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography. During his collegiate career he also trained at the Ailey School Summer Intensive as well as Broadway Dance Center. Darnell's professional credits include VTDance (Baltimore, MD), Ballet ADI (Rockville, MD), ELSCO Dance (New York, NY), and the Tony Award Winning Production After Midnight on Norwegian Cruise Lines. He has also performed at the DC Tap Festival and National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade, and worked with choreographers including Vincent E. Thomas, Runqiao Du, Karla Garcia, Tom Richardson, Chloe Arnold, Stephanie Powell, Elisabetta Spuria, Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, Warren Carlyle and more. Darnell's choreography has been presented at multiple dance competitions on the national and regional levels, and was also selected to be presented at the 2016 Mid-Atlantic Region American College Dance Association Conference. He is the recipient of multiple scholarships and awards including the Franklin And Alice Cooley Scholarship for Fine Arts and the Towson University Award for Outstanding Choreography. Currently, Darnell is a company member with ELSCO Dance Company under the direction of Ellenore Scott.
